Domaine des Rabelles

Sir James and Lady Dyson acquired the Domaine des Rabelles in 1999 and have been producing wine at the property since 2006. The vineyard consists of 4 hectares planted with Cabernet Sauvignon. The vines are more than 40 years old. The soil content of the land is mainly clay.

The Vineyard

The vineyard operates and complies with published standards for Bio-Active® cultures, a method which naturally restores the microbial contents to the soil.

The vines are treated without using any chemical or synthetic products. The soil is fertilised with sheep manure. Various cereals, vegetables, radish and mustard plants are sown between rows to rebalance the mineral and microbial content of the soil.

Finesse & Delicacy

This method supports the circulation of nutrients in the soil and encourages root development deep within the soil, leading in the long term to a stable and healthy vineyard steeped in its own natural energy flows.

Wines produced in the manner reflect the characteristics of the soil and reproduce their aromatic complexity without the heaviness of a wine rich in alcohol. In the cellar, the aim is to intervene as little as possible in order to promote naturally the finesse and delicacy of the fruit and volume.
